The Malcam Charitable Trust is holding a low-cost bicycle sale event during the school holidays, on the 11th of October to support the community to purchase low-cost, good quality and safe secondhand bicycles.

Balmacewen hosted this year’s mini ukulele Jam, “Jam on the Hills” where students from Kaikorai, Maori Hill, and Wakari Primary schools joined together with a group of Balmacewen students for some ukulele fun.

A reminder that our school athletics day is tomorrow Tuesday 27th September. Students need to meet at the Caledonian athletics ground between 8.15 - 8.45am please. They also need to be picked up from there at the end of the day (3pm.)

It is hard to believe the end of Term Three is here! We have had an excellent term in Year 7 - all classes have been extremely focused, engaged and motivated around our Term Three topics.

Last Thursday, as a final part of our Term 3 PBL, Room's 1,3,4 and 25 hosted a family/whanau Wellbeing night. The aim was to celebrate our term of Health and Wellbeing and also to encourage and support our Hauora - particularly around social wellbeing.

Poho kererū is a term used in Te Ao Māori which means to be full of pride, like the (wood pigeon) with its chest puffed out displaying all its beauty to the world.

The Balmacewen Kapa Haka group are performing at the Otago Polyfest on Thursday 15th September at 12.25pm. The performance will be live streamed for those who cannot make it to the Edgar Centre.
