Pink shirt day 2025

By Lisa Dixon | Posted: Monday May 5, 2025
On Pink Shirt Day, Friday 16th May 2025, Aotearoa will be transformed into a sea of māwhero/pink as we stand together to spread aroha, celebrate diversity and end bullying! We would like students and staff to support this important message by wearing pink on this day!

Students will be able to wear something pink or go full on pink on this day. It is a non-uniform day so the students are to bring $2 if they are not wearing their uniform. The idea behind wearing something pink is to show support and awareness of anti bullying and it is Pink Shirt Day right throughout NZ.

The money raised will go towards the mental health charities that the council has selected; Mental Health Foundation, Upside Down and St John.

At our Year Group Assemblies and during class we will be looking at friendships and focusing on being an UPSTANDER not a BYSTANDER when they see or hear something they know is not right.

We are looking forward to seeing a SEA of PINK next Friday as we support and get behind this important key message to speak up, stand up and do the right thing. This fits perfectly into our school Balmac Way programme and our school values of respect and kindness.
