48 students represented Balmacewen on Friday 2nd September at the Otago Cross Country Champs. Well done to everyone who competed, fantastic effort. Congratulations to the following students who placed in their race:

Last week Room 14 went to the Physical Education School at the University of Otago and to the Sports Hall of Fame at the Railway Station as part of our ongoing Sports Studies Unit.

Today we had a guest speaker to talk to both our Year 7 and Year 8 groups. Andrew is an Olympic Speed Skater and recently biked around the World to raise money for Cancer Research in world record time.

Our staff will be attending a Paid Union meeting on Tuesday afternoon. This means that Balmacewen Intermediate will be closed on Tuesday 6 September from 1.15pm while staff attend the meeting. The Otago Road Services bus which takes students home to Mosgiel will also be leaving at the earlier time.
