Thank you everyone who donated cans for this worthy cause. Last Thursday a group of Year 7 students helped place all of our cans in the Octagon as part of our Matariki celebrations.

Next term our art teacher Mary Brady is taking an opportunity to learn about another part of education while working for NMSSA. She will be looking at visual art, dance, drama, technology and learning of languages during the teem. We warmly welcome Miss Anna Dixon to Balmacewen Intermediate who will be teaching in the Art room for term 3.

Last week as part of our Matariki celebrations the Year 7 classes had the opportunity to be welcomed onto our local Arai Te Uru Marae. This was a unique experience for many with an offical powhiri welcome. As part of our preparation each class also took part on an online Te Reo challenge.
