Columba and John McGlashan Winter Sports Exchange 

On Friday 7th August Balmacewen competed in a sports exchange with Columba and John McGlashan College. All teams were extremely competitive and fought hard in all sports.

What's Hot in the Kitchen?

We welcomed new groups into Food Technology this term, and we have also changed the main focus in the Year 8 programme, so lots of fun in the Food Room.

Friendly Bowling Competition

Balmacewen students played Summerset residents in a friendly game of indoor bowls at Balmacewen Intermediate last week. It was a close game and great fun.

2nd place at Otago Aerobics comp

Two of our students: Abby McMullan and Jessie Penhey placed 2nd at the NZCAF Otago Aerobics competition earlier this month.

Otago O’Mathalon Winners

On 11 August the Otago O’Mathalon was held at the Edgar Centre with approximately 40 teams competing in each year level. This event involves teams of 4 competing to solve maths problems and then racing the answers to their markers.

Science Fair Success

37 Balmacewen students had their projects displayed at the Otago Museum as part of the Aurora Otago Science and Technology Fair. Many students were rewarded for their hard work and commitment.
