Year 7 November news

What's been happening in the Year 7 team

It is hard to believe this is the 2nd to last newsletter for the year.

We have been mostly lucky with the weather with our trips down to Long Beach.  The classes that have been to the beach  have discussed the team building and  the strengthening of  our class communities through rock climbing. It is awesome to see all pupils giving everything a go and challenging themselves to having a growth mindset when trying something new.

We were really lucky to have Lucy from the Royal New Zealand Ballet taking each class for a dance workshop.  For a lot of our learners, this was out of their comfort zone and many found it challenging to put together a sequences  of moves, but with team work and a display of our school value of perseverance everyone did an amazing job of learning a dance to the music from the Nutcracker.

Our Giving topic is in full swing and this coincided with World Kindness day.  Some classes have been looking at random acts of kindness,  giving projects, and some classes have been looking at the https://sendinglove.co.nz/ project where you send Christmas and holiday wishes to those who are alone over the festive period. We will also be sending a note home shortly to discuss the Giving project where we are collecting for the Presbyterian Support foodbank appeal.

As always, please don't hesitate to get in touch with your child's class teacher or myself if we can be of support in anyway.
