Nau mai, haere mai. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new students and whanau to our Balmacewen community. We are really looking forward to meeting you on our first day.

Term One is a busy start for our new Year 7 students as they navigate new classrooms, teachers and routines. We will spend the first two weeks setting up our programmes and spending time on activities getting to know our new classes. An important part of this process is our Year 7 Waihola camp. All classes will have three days at Waihola. This will be a great opportunity to get to know our students and for friendships to form. These camps will run between week's 4-6- caregivers - we will need your help to run these camps and information will come out week one.

Our focus for our term one curriculum is Ūkaipō- leaning about our students families, connections and history as well as our school history and traditions. We tie this in with a focus on Aotearoa histories also.

Later in the term our students will also have a week of swimming and our school swimming sports.

We look forward to meeting you all and wish you a safe and happy Christmas break.
