Transition from Primary School

In order to provide support for your child as they move from Primary school to Intermediate, we try to visit or speak to the year 6 teachers from their Primary school, to help us with our class placement.

We like to find out how students are tracking in literacy and numeracy. We ask about their learning needs and learning styles. We like to know if they have any particular skills or strengths, interests or sports, all of which help us to group children together into their year 7 class.

This information is to support transition and start of year placement only. This information is shared with the classroom teachers, the senior leadership team and learning support as required. It will be removed at the end of term 1.
