And SEW it comes to an end

This term, all Year 8 students, have designed and created a personal bag that is fit for purpose. They looked at attributes such as size, fabric choices, how it is carried, how it opens and closes.
Early finishers had the opportunity to create simple tote bags, made from old curtains, for the Dunedin Food Bank. This really was KINDNESS in action for a wonderful community resource that is so needed at this time of year. I was very impressed and thankful to the students who were keen to make more than one!
Students are currently screen printing their hand cut stencils onto a cotton or denim tote bag that they have made for their own stakeholder. Look out for these next week!
For those who heard about our Fabrics pup, Murphy swallowing a pin - I am pleased and relieved to report that he has recovered well from his surgery and is looking forward to popping in next week to visit our classes.
Thank you to our awesome Year 8 students for contributing to life in the Fabrics room. I love teaching and creating and I hope you all find your passion in the years to come.
Merry Christmas! Hopefully, you can carve out some time to be creative these holidays.
