Top 5 Finish for Balmac "Chic" at Hip Hop Unite NZ Nationals.

Last Friday, the Balmac "Chic" Hip Hop crew took to the stage at the Hip Hop Unite NZ Nationals—the official nationwide qualifier for school-age and elite crews competing for a spot on the world stage.

The team's impressive success this season was made possible thanks to the fantastic leadership of their coaches, Izzy and Isla. As former Balmacewen pupils and current Year 12 students at Otago Girls' High School, Izzy and Isla generously gave back to their old school by creating outstanding choreography and running training sessions twice every week. Their dedication, leadership, and time have been deeply appreciated by the dancers, their parents, and our entire school community.

Facing intense national competition, the girls delivered a high-energy routine that earned them a spot in the top 5 and secured their place in the finals. While they narrowly missed out on a medal in the final round, they performed with incredible passion, skill, and heart, leaving everything on the stage.
