Yr 8 Fabrics

Our Year 8 students have been busy in our fabrics room creating some fabulous outcomes; from heat bags & covers to screen printed flags to up cycled goodness!

Our students have gained many new practical skills in this space and they have all had the opportunity to work on and demonstrate our school PERK values.

It is important for us all to remember that when we are learning new skills we cannot expect perfection. Having the ability to try your best and keep persevering when learning is hard, is a fantastic take away from fabrics that can be applied everywhere. Hand sewing, cutting a stencil with a scalpel and sewing in a zip are not easy tasks. They all require students to watch demonstrations carefully, follow instructions and then spend time practising and improving their skill set.

I have been impressed with the students who manage their class time to meet their individual goals. Enjoy using your hand made outcomes that show the learning journey you have been on.

Take a look at the variety of work!

Happy holidays everyone.
