Year 7 News

With our focus on the ARTS our students have been rotating around a range of activities in Dance, Drama and Music this term. This has allowed some of our students to really shine as their passion and creativity comes through.
In Dance they have been working on creative dance and learning some line dances. Drama skills have continued to build on confidence, oral language, using facial expressions and collaboration. Our Music rotations have included primarily looking at digital music creation with apps like Chrome music lab, Incredibox and the Hour of Code Music Lab. We will also be looking at visual art with Photography a focus also.
Our classes will then move onto their PBL focus on creating a class performance of some description to be shared with a range of audiences later this term. This may look slightly different in each class as the students and teachers co-construct the focus for this. We have also started working on a whole Year 7 performance on a Samoan sasa.
Speeches have been written, practiced and now presented across our Year 7 classes and we look forward to hearing those who make it through to the semi finals and finals next week.
This week the first of our Rock climbing trips are underway with Room 8 the first class heading down to Long Beach for this awesome day out. Thank you in advance to all of the parents, caregivers and extended family who have offered to help out with these trips!
