In the Hards Room, our Year 7 students continue to learn the fundamentals of woodworking by designing and building their very own shelves. From measuring and cutting to sanding and finishing, they’ve shown fantastic attention to detail and pride in their work. Each shelf is unique, reflecting the students’ growing confidence and creativity with tools and materials. The students all designed according to the specifications given to them and managed to make a functional and interesting design.
Meanwhile, the Year 8s have been combining design, woodworking, and sound in an exciting project—creating their own wooden phone speakers. From carefully cutting and shaping the wood to glue-ups and laser engraving, the Students have been incorporating simple hand tools with high-tech machines to produce working speakers that look great.
