Get those pencils sharpened, devices charged, uniforms pressed, lunches packed, smiles on your dials and brains switched on!

I hope you are all feeling relaxed and refreshed after your two weeks holiday and ready to dive into another action packed term. You all know now the Balmac ways and how we operate in Room 11 so we are going to crank things up a little and get into some seriously fun and exciting learning.

MEGA MATHS MONTH starts on Monday for the next four weeks where we will be intensely learning our multiplication and division knowledge so we can get the best class average score at Balmac. There may be other wee incentives for those that show real commitment to learning their facts so get practising!

We have got our DISCOVERY inquiry this term that goes hand in hand with SCIENCE FAIR. We talked about Science fair a little bit last term and a letter emailed out last week with some more information. I hope you have put your thinking hats on for where you might like to take your learning with that this term. Are you going to go down the scientific investigation path or are you going to be an inventor...?

We have two main EOTC trips this term. The first one is to the PLANETARIUM on Friday 27th May, to discover all about our place in space. The second is our Arai te Uru MARAE visit on Thursday 9th June, where we are going to extend our learning and understanding of Maori protocols and culture. Get brushing up on your Mihimihi from term 1 as you will need to know it for this visit.

I hope you are as excited as I am for Term two. It's going to be a BLAST (maybe in more ways that one!)

Stay tuned to keep up to date with all of the cool stuff we get up to.
