Year 8 - Fabrics Design in Action
By Angela Burden | Posted: Monday October 27, 2025
Our Year 8 Ākonga have had the opportunity to create a bag for a chosen stakeholder. There were a variety of designs that were 'fit for purpose'.
This unit gives all ākonga the chance to problem solve, trial ideas, gather feedback and improve their practical knowledge when working with fabric.
I was really impressed with the vairtey of suitable storage options created. Well done to everyone who displayed a great attitude to new learning! Be proud of the effort you put in to creating a bag that is 'fit for purpose'.
Article photo is of Luca, he designed a chalk bag that he could clip on with a carabina. His action shot on the climbing wall tells me he has met the brief. Awesome mahi!
Enjoy a selection of great bags in the photos.
