TOUCH 2026

Touch is played on a Thursday after school at the Kensington Oval during Term's 1 & 4.

Start Date: Thursday 15th October 2026

Finals Date: Thursday 03 December 2026

Term 4 Trials: Year 7/8 Girls - Monday 14th September 3.10 - 4.15pm. Y7/8 Boys - Thursday 17th September 3.10 - 4.15pm

Games; Are played between 4.15pm and 5.45pm

Transport; Students must find their own way to and from the Oval.

Uniform; Touch is played in the correct school PE uniform (shorts and t-shirt). The A teams are given a school Touch Singlet to wear. Either sneakers or touch boots are to be worn as you cannot wear bare feet.

Communication Platforms: Each week the Touch draws will go up on the School Sports Notice Board, School Facebook Page and the School Website.

Interval Meetings: Each Thursday Interval, students are to meet in the school hall at 10.25am and line up in there Touch Teams, for us to check and confirm students.

Cancellation; Touch is played in all types of weather. Therefore, players need to be prepared to play in showery conditions. However if it is cancelled they make the call at 2pm and we will let the students know at this time.

Metro Junior Touch Trials

Registrations are now open for the Metro Junior Touch Trials for the 2026/27 season.

Under 12 Boys & Girls
Born: 2015–2016
Registration: 10:30am
Trial: 11:00am–12:00pm

Under 14 Boys & Girls
Born: 2013–2014
Registration: 11:30am
Trial: 12:00pm–1:00pm

U12 - U14 Touch Development Programme 2026

The programme is aimed at U12–U14 players who are looking to develop their Touch skills, improve their understanding of the game and prepare for the upcoming Touch season.

The session is open to players of all experience levels, from those already involved in Touch through to those wanting to develop their skills and become more involved in the sport. We particularly encourage players who are looking to trial for their district and Otago representative teams this season to attend, as this is a great opportunity to sharpen their skills ahead of trials.

Metro/Taieri Touch Development Programme
Date: Friday 2nd October
Time: 10:00am–12:00pm
Venue: Edgar Centre
Cost: $30 per player

The programme will focus on key Touch skills, game understanding and player development, while providing a fun and positive environment for players.
