Year 9 Student’s Visit

On the 13th of October we were privileged enough to have our ex Balmacewen students Oliver and Zach come in to have a Q and A session.

The purpose of the session was for them to share some words of advice to help our year 8 students transition to high school. Zach and Oliver were selected because of the lasting positive impression that they left on our Balmacewen community. The room was silent, as our students watched in awe and listened intently to the advice that Olvier and Zach shared.

One of Oliver's pieces of advice was to “never judge a book by its cover”. Illustrating his ability to build relationships with a broad range of students. He also shared the importance of “putting yourself out there”. As he did, participating in the production in 2022.

One piece of Zach’s advice was to take opportunities, meaning to seize the moment and not put things off for the next year or the next, so no more “i'll do it tomorrow” do it today and this mindset encouraged Zach’s to strive for the fairplay cup and in 2022 he won that very trophy for the school.
