School Council Update

Term 2 has been a busy and productive term for the School Council.

This term we have had a mufti day and Warn-Up Wednesday to fundraise for this terms chosen charities which are Starship Hospital and St Johns Ambulance.

Warm up Wednesday was a real hit in the cold weather but had to be spread over 2 days due to icy conditions and a late start. We sold Milo/Hot Chocolate before school and had a sausage sizzle at lunch time.

We also ran a House competition for Octacan which is where people donate cans or non-perishable food items to help our local food banks. This year it was run in conjunction with Matariki which is traditionally a time where people come together to celebrate and share kai. We collected food items over 2 weeks at school then a group of councillors went to the Octagon to make the donation on behalf of our school community. The cans were arranged in the shape of the 9 stars of Matariki.

Thank you so much to everyone who made a contribution to ensure those Dunedin whanau in need are provided for in the colder months this year. Your kindness is much appreciated.
