Kia ora Balmacewen whanau. We have come to the end of another busy week of school at Balmacewen Intermediate.

Our students and teachers have made the most of the fabulous weather and have enjoyed excellent outdoor activities. Students are engaged in term 1 units of work with year 8’s investigating how to make podcasts to share knowledge of historical New Zealand events and year 7’s are investigating their Turangawaewae and ways to present that. Our technology programmes are underway and students are busy creating and making a variety of masterpieces from paintings to pies.

Alongside this we continue to navigate and manage the existence of COVID 19 in our school and our wider community. Thank you to all of our families for their support and communication with this.

For privacy reasons and under Ministry of Education guidance, we will not be reporting individual or new cases as they arise, instead we ask that all families are aware of the presence of covid in our school community and we ask that you please continue to be vigilant around monitoring for symptoms and adhering to all the health protocols we have in place. Please see the images attached for guidelines.
