Music Programmes Term 1, 2022

By Sara Quelch | Posted: Tuesday April 12, 2022

Despite the restrictions that have come with COVID, we’ve had a great start to 2022 in the Music Room.

  • Individual and Group Instrumental Lessons started in week 4. Brass and Woodwind have had the greatest challenge, with lessons having to be in the open air, during red setting. Luckily we have been able to use the back shed, now renamed “Summerset Shed”.

  • Orchestra has been meeting for sectional rehearsals and recently as a whole group. When the whole group comes, the brass and woodwind instruments play outside on the covered porch.

  • Class Marimba + Ukulele have proceeded as normal, although we haven’t been able to sing during the sessions yet!

  • School Singing Band: some of our musicians have been rehearsing in preparation for school singing next term.

  • Choir has finally started and we have enjoyed singing together outside! Fortunately the weather has been wonderful. We can easily move indoors/outdoors during the sessions and the piano can be moved beside the wide-open doors.

  • Band Quest is coming up. Sign-up will be via a Google form so watch for the link in the notices.
