Beach Education Day

Over the summer many of our students will no doubt visit our beaches and spend time in the water. We thought it would therefore be timely to have our Year 7 students take part in a Beach Education day to learn how to keep themselves safe in the water.
The students spent the morning learning about water safety and the life guard rules in and around the water. They learnt all about rips and how to recognise them and what to do if they get caught in a rip. The students then had the opportunity to put their skills to the test in the water for a swimming and body boarding session.
We would like to thank all of our parent helpers who came and helped and provided the supervision needed in the water for the day.
