Year 7 News

It's a wrap! Our Term Four parTicpate term came to an end with class performances and presenting of our twisted fairytales. Our end of year celebrations have started and our year 7 students are ready for a well earned break and are looking forward to stepping up as Year 8 students in 2022.

It is hard to believe that this is the last newsletter for the year; it only seems like yesterday that our Year 7 students were sitting in the hall on day one waiting anxiously for their names to be read out! Now the end of their first year is almost over - and they are ready to take on the leadership and challenges as they move on to Year 8.

All classes have been working on their Term 4 PBL inquiry of pARTicipate - with our driving question - How can we use our skills and creativity to plan, create and participate in a class performance?

We were so impressed with the leadership shown by students in their class groups, the skills, talent and teamwork required to together a range of activities and creative storytelling  What a talented group we have! It was a busy finish to our term but very successful!   Our focus was around storytelling and many classes also completed a number of online tasks to support the writing of their fairytales - such as using storyboardthat and learning to code in twinery. New online music platforms were explored and creative dance sessions within classes also.

As the year draws to a close, I would like to thank our Year 7 parent community for their ongoing support throughout the year. The Year 7 teachers are also really looking forward to watching our Year 7 pupils step up to be the leaders of the school in 2022 and we are excited to follow their progress! I would also like to thank my hard working Year 7 teaching team and teacher aides. Their commitment, time, energy and enthusiasm as well as their ongoing support of each other and our students makes it a pleasure to be part of the Year 7 team.

Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to all!

Lisa Dixon and the Year 7 team.
