While this term has been challenging with our Lockdown over the last few weeks, it is great to be back in school completing Term 3. Teachers welcomed back the face to face learning and interactions in our classrooms, and students were happy and excited to reconnect with their friends and classmates.

We were very impressed with our students online commitment to continue their learning while at home. We would like to thank our parents and caregivers for the support that was given to students during this time. We really enjoyed the work, photos and stories that were shared with us.

Now we are back in school, all classes have been completing work started earlier this term and during lockdown that link to our term Health topics and Hauora. While some of our planned PBL units have been modified, over the last two weeks classes will be looking at body systems, explanations, teenage stress and issues with app making, digital escape rooms, making games or working with Summerset Retirement home looking at the Wellbeing of their residents.

We are looking forward to Term Four also with planning well underway for our last term. Our focus for Term Four is the ARTS - pARTicipate is our theme for the term and we will be looking at drama, dance, art, music and performance. This will tie in with our storytelling narrative writing unit also. We have planned workshops with the RNZ Ballet educators and drama with Tahu from the Ecosanctuary. Our students will also be taking part in EOTC events - Long Beach Rockclimbing and Beach Education and Surf Safety.
