The ICAS assessments provide an opportunity for all students to gain a measure of their own achievement in an external assessment situation. Read on if you would like more information about registering your child to participate in an ICAS exam.

There are a number of ICAS Competitions being held this year. These include opportunities in Writing, Science, Digital Technologies, Spelling, English and Mathematics. All ICAS exams will be online, so it would be good if students can have a chromebook or laptop on the day of their assessment. School devices will be available for students to use if needed.

The ICAS assessments provide an opportunity for all students to gain a measure of their own achievement in an external assessment situation. These competitions take place in schools throughout Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific region.

Each child will receive a certificate and a letter indicating which questions they answered correctly.

Certificates are awarded for each level as follows:
High Distinction - top 1% in New Zealand
Distinction - next 10% in New Zealand
Credit - next 20% in New Zealand
Achievement - to the students who are placed in the top 20% of their school
Participation - all other participants

The cost of sitting these exams is $20.00 each, except for writing which requires individual marking and costs $25.00
