Year 8 Happenings

Kia Ora families and friends of our Year 8 whanau, here is our latest news.

All classes are heavily involved in completing their Term 1 Project Based Learning investigation. The historical focus on events and people who have shaped our country has certainly engaged the students. It is great seeing the projects come to life. We are all impressed with the super skills that the students are implementing in the development of their project. We look forward to sharing the finished podcast with our community.

The recent foci for our year 8 assemblies have been developing both teamwork and self-control. This has seen us learn a traditional Samoan Sasa (Slap Dance) as well as develop our box breathing technique. This is helpful for regaining composure in challenging times.

The Berwick Camp experience is sure to be a major highlight of your child’s time at Balmacewen. The cost of this week at camp is $220.  This can be paid off in installments, at the school office. If you are experiencing difficulty with the payment of this activity then please contact your class teacher or Mr. Hunter.

Thanks once again for all your support, especially those helpers who attended our museum visit.
