Athletics round up

North Zones & Otago Champs

Term 4 has been a busy term with the North Zone Athletics and Otago Athletic championships being held at the Caledonian. 

Balmacewen had 120 students competing at North zones across all events. We had 24 relay teams at the event with 23 placing in the top four to go through to the Otago champs. At the Otago champs we had two students who broke records in their respected events; Annabelle broke the over 13 high jump record with a jump of 1.47m and Ruben broke the under 12 discus record with a throw of 32.37m. 

Along with these amazing results we had an outstanding amount of place getters as well as seven relay team placing in the top 3. Congratulations to all students who competed at both events.
