Year 8 - Fabulous in Fabrics

This week our Year 8 students have completed their projects in Fabrics. It has been awesome to be back in the classroom learning alongside each other.

During their time in Fabrics, students have designed mini key rings that developed hand sewing techniques and perserverance. They have been back on their machines completing drawstring bags and aprons. We have also developed a better understanding of the screen printing process. I think we all agree that the cutting of the stencil is challenging but one of the most important steps. I have enjoyed watching some students experiment with colour mixing and I have been impressed with the problem solving that has occured when mistakes have been made. Mistakes are a vital part of our learning journey and they develop risk taking when creating - and this is fantastic! Well done to all of those Year 8 students who developed new skills and demonstrated our school values.
