Perfect Pies and Mystery Boxes

The end of 2 years of technology for this group finished with them making pies and being creative with the Mystery Boxes

The students designed and finally made their pies after a few delays with postponed athletics days. The anticipation levels were high and it resulted in some very creative pastry tops.  The flavours ranged from mince and cheese to tofu and roasted veges.

The groups finished off with the Mystery Box competition.  This includes the students trying to cook a meal with 4 ingredients (1 carbohydrate, 1 protein, 1 fruit or vegetable and 1 can of something) plus the "pantry" is available for them to use.  Some amazing meals were created and it was fantastic that the classroom teachers took time out to be the judges.

The students will be emailed all the recipes they have used in their time at Balmacewen and it is a good idea to save them to a non-school email  as their school emails will be turned off in January.
