Current Events Quiz

On Wednesday the 4th of September, six Balmacewen students attended the Intermediate Extra! Current Events Quiz at Bathgate Park School. 

They had been practising for around 2 months at lunchtimes on topics such as famous faces, country capitals and flags and international politics. There were over 45 teams (of three) at the competition and there were 10 rounds all on different topics. In each round you could score up to 10 points, apart from two rounds where the maximum was 5 points. 

The Balmacewen teams did not place but both teams came 4th equal with 81 points out of 100, which was only 11 points behind the winning team, Rosebank Primary school. 

Overall it was a very fun experience that all of the students enjoyed.
