Last week was a hive of activity in the school hall with our Year 7 students hosting junior students from our local schools to our first ever Science Expo.
HOOKED ON SCIENCE was our term focus and our students did exactly that.
Early in the term we visited the Junior Syndicates at Wakari, Maori Hill and Kaikorai Schools. We interviewed the students about science. About what they thought a scientist was and what they liked about science. With these findings our Year 7 students set to work to design a show case of science.
All 3 expos were exciting, engaging and well recieved by their audiences. It was so good to see our students becoming the teachers and being such good role models for our community.
With such good feedback we are sure that this will become an annual event. We would like to thank our contributing schools for being such a fantastic audience!!!
