The Year 7 team have had a fantastic start to life at Balmacewen Intermediate - read on to find out about what we have been up to.

It has been a fabulous start to our new crew of Year 7 pupils. They have been fully immersing themselves in learning the Balmac Way. There has been plenty of brainstorming, discussions , role plays and activities around the Balmac SuperSix and our school values of perseverance, excellence, respect and kindness (PERK). We are really proud of how well our new pupils are settling in and we know it takes time to make the transition from primary school but all pupils are making the effort and this is so pleasing to see.

Our school  Mihi Whakatau was a very special time where our Year 7 pupils  were formally welcomed to our  Balmacewen community. A big thanks to Rupene who presented the Whaikorero for the manuhuri.

Classes have started trips to Toitu Otago Settlers Museum. This visit is directly linked to our Term 1 topic of Turangawaewae - our belonging and our identity.

We also have a day visit to Arai te Uru Marae and of course the highlight of our EOTC calendar - camp at Waihola! Room 1 and 5 are away at camp and the rest of the Year 7 crew will be heading out in the next few weeks. Many thanks to our parent and whanau community for their assistance at camp.

Please don't hesitate to get it touch if I can assist you in any way.
