Message from the Principal

It has been a whirlwind start to the year with many events and activities to enjoy!

Kia ora koutou

What an  excellent start to the year!  We are well underway with school programmes and it has been great to see everyone settling into their new classes. Our school values of Perseverance, Excellence, Respect and Kindness are widely evident which is great to see.

We enjoyed a lovely mihi whakatau where the Year 8 students gave a rousing welcome to the Year 7's.  There was a great sense of community and "coming together" which made for a very enjoyable day. Thank you also to the good number of parents who came along.

As you will see in the newsletter there is plenty of activity around Balmacewen. It's great to see everyone enjoying the many opportunities on offer. Record numbers playing sport and music shows the positive attitude of Balmacewen students. Well done to all involved!

You will see a reminder in the newsletter about Family Zone. I really encourage you to consider the offer to subscribe to this very good parental control app. It will provide your child the protection and support to keep them safe online. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Finally, a big thank you to parents and caregivers who have enlisted to help with sports teams and  camps. We really appreciate your contribution in supporting our students.

We're here to help!  Good communication between home and school is important. Please make contact if there is something we can do to help.

Kind Regards

Andrew Hunter
