Room 26 does Ballet

On the 29th of October Room 26 were given the privilege to have a Ballet lesson with the one and only Lucy Green. She is a part of the Royal New Zealand Ballet.

We all had fun and learned lots about ballet. She taught us the 6 positions in Ballet and we had to play a memory game to see if we could remember what the positions were.

That’s not all we learnt though. She also taught us part of the Nutcracker (A ballet performance that is coming to Dunedin soon.) It was very difficult but we all tried our best. The part she taught us was the Russian part where they had their big woollen hats on. In the Nutcracker every country that participates in it has to bring something. This year New Zealand is bringing a Pohutukawa.

Among the things we did with Lucy we had to make a tunnel using our bodies. The people on the end would then run through the tunnel and add onto the tunnel at the end. We would keep doing this until we had been all around.

I enjoyed everything about this experience because it was something new and different!
