Room 23's Art Gallery Trip

By Kate Elliott | Posted: Friday September 14, 2018
On Monday, Room 23 visited the Dunedin Art Gallery as part of our Impact topic this term.

We were shown around by John Neumegen who showed us many different amazing artworks.

We learned about the importance of eating our colours. We also discussed about the ways that plastic affects the environment and the creatures that live in it. We saw how advertising plays a role in the food that we consume everyday, like fast food advertisements. Our session was split into two parts. The first part consisted of us having a tour through the art gallery, talking about specific artworks that related to our topic. The second part of the session entailed a hands on art activity in the classroom. We each designed our own ‘healthy fruit bowl’, focusing on different colours, shapes and patterns. See the photos attached.
