Museum Trip - Planetarium and Tangata Whenua Gallery

Written by Gemma, focusing on the Planetarium visit.

I was desperately waiting to walk into the planetarium and discover the moving sky.  We slowly walked in staring at a plain white circle room with fancy chairs from Spain. We sat down on the chairs that were slightly tilted so we could admire the planets and stars.

We learnt some extraordinary things, like how cold planets are, and that Earth is the best place for life because it’s the right temperature and it’s in the Goldilocks zone. An interesting fact that I learnt is that a Rigel is the youngest star and aged roughly 10 million years old.

Sometimes when the roof was moving it actually felt like I was floating in space. One of my favourite parts was looking at all the constellations of stars.
