Year 7 and Softie Design

Year 7 students in Tech have begun working their way through the key stages to making a softie.
Students have learned a variety of hand stitches during functional modelling - which is when they trial and learn stitching skills and design ideas in preparation for the design process. This week softie designs have taken a big step forward with students finalising design and moving onto making templates for all features. Some have begun to cut pattern pieces from templates made, and they then will begin to create their masterpiece one feature at a time. It is always so exciting to watch these fabulous creations take shape.
