School Council Update

New roles have been announced and fundraising is underway.

At the start of Term 2 three very important positions within our school council were announced. Congratulations to:

Sophie Chettleburgh - Chairperson

Lily Knox - Secretary

Michael Buttery - Treasurer

Last term we started our fundraising ventures and held our first mufti day. We have since donated $200 to MND New Zealand and Dog Rescue Dunedin. We have received letters thank you from both organisations who are very grateful for the support we have shown them as a school.

We also sold poppies and stickers at school on behalf of the RSA leading up to Anzac Day which fell in the school holidays. Madeleine Brown from Rm 6 laid a wreath at the Dawn Service on behalf of our school. We would like to thanks Madeleine and her family for being there on our behalf.

This term we are fundraising for Women's Refuge and will be holding a coin trail activity later in the term. We also have some working parties set up to address some concerns around the school eg) getting bike racks in the Heights, and organising chains or nets for our basketball hoops to name a few.

Next Monday on the 29th May the Councillors along with the House Captains will be attending the National Young Leaders Day at the Town Hall. We look forward to reporting back to you on this exciting opportunity.
