Welcome back to Term Three!

We hope everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break with time for friends, family and recharging ready for Term Three!

This term our integrated topic is called IMPACT. Our key questions are - what impact do we have on our environment? How can we make a difference? All classes will take part in similar saturation activities around this theme including environmental impacts, consumerism, carbon footprints and the impact of introduced species on NZ. As part of our unit we will visit the Orokonui Eco sanctuary, Art Gallery and complete the Dunedin Street Art Walk looking at the positive Impact this has had on the city.  Students are also going to be completing an Individual ASPIRE based on one of two options as part of their home learning this term - Option One - Trash to Treasure, Option Two - a photography portfolio of positive or negative Impact.  In class they will also have an opportunity to work collaboratively with a group on an area of impact they feel passionate about. The start of this term is also very busy with the students visiting High Schools and many High School open nights.  We also have our own school open night in Week 3.

Other highlights this term will include our EOTC event Active8, a parents sharing night, cross country, athletics and sports exchanges.

We also congratulate and wish the following students the best for the Otago Science Fair - Aaron Nelson, Ayesha Downes, Niamh Dillingham, Theo Stebbings, Hugh Davidson, Taylor McCreanor, Evie Holt, Harry Almey, Zara Deans, Daniel Honey - well done on being school prize winners! As a syndicate we are very proud of all our students for completing their science fair and technology inquires to such a high standard in Term Two.

We are looking forward to seeing you all on Monday!!
