Scribble bots in Room 5 & Room 6

Working collaboratively on a STEM challenge in Block two!

On Monday, Rooms 5 and 6 made scribble bots. We used a motor, a rubber, 1 AAA Battery, a paper cup, and felt pens. To activate the motor, we had to link the wires from the battery holder to the motor, which made the motor go. A small rubber was stuck to the metal piece of the motor to act as a propeller.

Then we taped our coloured pens of choice to the cup and placed it on thepaper.

Depending on which way you face the propeller, the scribble bot made different patterns. My group’s scribble bot made wild dot patterns, because the pens were unstable and shook, making dots. We talked a lot about variables, and how what we do can change what the overall outcome is.

It was a really fun and engaging challenge, and I thought it was so much fun to work with people from Room 5.
