What we’re doing in the fabrics room.

This term in fabrics room we have made softies. I choose to make a fox. When we started off this term we revisited the basics, like threading up our machines. We also learned some easy hand stitches like whip stitch, cross stitch, running stitch and how to sew on buttons to make the eyes.

Making our softies was pretty easy. We had to cut out pattern templates from paper, then pin them to the polar fleece and cut out carefully. Then we sewed them all together except the bottom, to leave a stuff hole. We filled them up with white cushion stuffing then sewed up the hole with whip stitch. My fox turned out really cute and I can’t wait to be back in fabrics.
