Warning! Spooky writing...

Room 9 has been writing about the dark and dangerous  this term.

Room 9 has used video clips to explore setting and how to create and describe using show, not tell writing techniques.   Here are two pieces of writing so far.

As I slowly stroll across the rocky path, up ahead was the mammoth of a building, BIG and tall. Stepping closer to the creaky gate. The dark gloomy air floats around me like there is a ghost entering my body. Up ahead was a big bronze sculpture with leaves crawling up the sides. I look above seeing dark moody clouds forming in the sky. The bright moon lights up the dark place like a shining crystal ball. Roaming through the stone walls a trail leads me to a flooded dungeon. Suddenly the cold water hit my warm body, I keep on walking. The water dripping from the ceiling makes the noise of a pipe that is leaking. As I keep on walking I see spiderwebs they looked silky like a soft blanket.

Shivers run up and down my spine as I near the abandoned church. The dirt road is dimly light up by constantly flickering lamp posts which now are covered in luscious green mould. Some of the stones of the ancient fence have fallen off, some perishing in the dirt track. A tall leafless tree stands awkwardly pointing towards the old castle almost if it wants me to go there. From where I was the castle looked strangled in ivy.
