Put down your Xbox and take up your tackle box!

Otago Fish & Game Council is running two FREE Take-a-kid-fishing days at the Southern Reservoir (located off Reservoir Road) on Sat 19th and Sat 26th September 2015. Both start at 10am and finish at 12 noon.

Registrations for the event start on Tues 1st September and are essential. To register, visit the Fish & Game web site www.fishandgame.org.nz click on Kids Corner, click on kids fishing & hunting events, scroll down to Otago Region, click on registrations. Alternatively, come into the Fish & Game office on the corner of Hanover & Harrow St. Dunedin Registrations are limited to 200 kids on each day so be in quick.

Spare fishing rods will be available along with experts to help kids get started. Parents or care givers must be present to supervise children.

Parents – Why should the kids have all the fun! Want to learn more about fishing but don’t know where to start? Come and join us for an evening of instruction on basic fishing, all absolutely FREE.

If you don’t want to come alone, txt some friends and form a group.

The Otago Fish & Game Council will also be running two free beginner fishing classes, one for Novice Adults and one for Women Only 14yrs and above. All fishing topics will be covered on the night eg licences, regulations, species of fish, rods, bait, knots, where to go etc. Round up a group or bring your partners along for the fun! Dates and times

· Novice Adults – Tues 25th August starting 6.30pm finishing around 8.30pm

· Women Only – Wed 26th August starting 6.30pm finishing around 8.30pm

Note: Both classes will be held at the Otago Fish & Game Council office, Cnr Hanover & Harrow St, Dunedin.

On Sat 5thSept there will be a field trip for both classes at the Southern Reservoir off Kaikorai Valley Road at 2pm (if weather is bad this field trip will be on Sun 6th at the same time) All fishing gear and licences supplied.
