Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 3. There's plenty to look forward to as we get into our learning programmes.

Open nights, open days, open mornings.... it's open season!

The first few weeks of the year are punctuated with our students visiting high schools and considering their next steps in education. It is  always an interesting time where students assess and compare   the various merits of our local schools. We are very fortunate to live in a city where education is so strong and easily accessible.

Likewise we have recently held our own Open Night. Our students really enjoyed talking to prospective students and their parents about life at Balmacewen. The night was very well attended and we look forward to welcoming the next group of new Balmacewen students into our school.

A popular point of discussion during Open Night was around students bringing their own devices to school. We do recommend you give this serious consideration.  Access to online resources and learning tools is becoming increasingly important and while we will always supply a number of school owned devices, it is definitely worth considering purchasing your child a device. If you would like to discuss the options, please feel free to contact me at school.

We are looking forward to some warmer weather as the term progresses. Many thanks to all parents and coaches who have committed throughout the winter season. Our teams continue to excel both in performance and most importantly attitude. Well done to all involved.

As always, if there's anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Andrew Hunter
