Science Fair Success

37 Balmacewen students had their projects displayed at the Otago Museum as part of the Aurora Otago Science and Technology Fair. Many students were rewarded for their hard work and commitment.

During term 2 students put their scientific skills and knowledge to the test to create their Science and Technology Fair inquiry projects. Students presented their projects to their classes and their projects were then displayed in the hall for the remainder of the school, the public and the Science Fair judges to view. The standard of projects was very high and students can be proud of their efforts and achievements.

During week 3 of this term, 37 Balmacewen students had their projects displayed at the Otago Museum as part of the Aurora Otago Science and Technology Fair. Students were quizzed by the judges about their projects and were able to articulate their findings well. This was evident in the high proportion of Balmacewen students who ended up receiving awards for their projects.

Below is a list of the students who represented Balmacewen at the Aurora Science and Technology Fair. An asterisk indicates prize winners. Special mention should be made of CJ Barnes (Whether the Weather) who won a total of 4 prizes including an excellence prize.
