Room 2 and 6 Waihola Camp 2017

Room 2 and 6 had an amazing 3 days at CYC Waihola.

We are back from an awesome, high energy, epic three days at CYC Waihola.

Day one we were feeling very proud of ourselves after we conquered the 15km hike on the Taieri River track. There were some pretty challenging hills that we had to climb, but the whole group was so positive and encouraging that the time just flew by!

On the first night we had a quiz followed by a few games of spotlight - a camp favourite for sure.

The rain set in for a solid 5 hours on the first night, and unfortunately for some they left their shoes outside and tents unzipped!

Day two was rotation day - flying fox, archery, team building, initiative and confidence course and rifle shooting. The weather was slightly against us, but again, with positive attitudes and a can do mind set all children had an awesome morning.

The afternoon was to be spent at the lake, but with the nasty toxic bloom setting in again, that was no longer an option. So the girls took off geocaching and the boys showed off their masterchef skills  on the camp cookers.

We were fortunate enough to have Pippity- Pop aka Pip Hughes as a parent helper on our camp and she led the nights activities - a 2 hour team building workshop.  Each group received a mystery box and had to set out to make a balloon motorcycle - the parents nailed it ! The children's creations however didn't really resemble a motorbike ! Regardless, it was so much fun and we were very spoilt to be able to have Pip as one of our awesome parent help crew.

On our last day the boys took off geocaching and the girls impressed us with their masterchef skills.

Before we knew it, it was time to pack up and head home  - noticeably the car rides home were considerably more quiet than the drive to Waihola.

Lauren and I are incredibly thankful for our amazing parent helpers - you all were legendary!

Well done to our epic R2 and R6 children  - we were very proud of you all.
