Year 7 Health Trip

What a fantastic time all year 7 classes had last week visiting various sporting facilities around Dunedin.

As part of our health focus this term all classes were lucky enough to visit Forsyth Barr Stadium, Unipol, Sports Insititute of Otago and the Anatomy Museum.

A tour around Forsyth Barr Stadium was a highlight from many, especially those classes who got to watch the All Blacks train.  We were able to go into the changing rooms and through the tunnel just like the All Blacks will do on Saturday!

During the Unipol visit students explored the various training rooms and got to experience the exceptional sporting facilities on offer.

At the Anatomy Museum we were able to process our new learning and look into the body systems we have been studying with a bit more detail.

The Sports Institute of Otago was another activity and it was so good to have experts reinforce the learning that we have been doing at school.  They focused on a healthy lifestyle, to keep moving and to eat a balanced diet.  It was pretty special that an ex-Balmacewen student was one of our tutors!

It was lovely for these businesses to take the time out and show our students around these fantastic facilities.  Check out all the photographs below to see the wonderful experience we all had.  It is so good to see all those smiling, active students!
