This year Balmacewen Intermediate entered the Tournament of Minds competition.

This involved a team completing 2 challenges.  The first challenge was a 6 week long term challenge which was presented at tournament on Saturday.  The second challenge is called a Spontaneous challenge.  This involved the team being given a problem and having 4 minutes to discuss creative solutions and 1 minute to present.

What is Tournament of Minds?

Tournament of Minds is a problem solving programme of multi-aged teams of students who work together to solve a demanding, open ended long term challenge.  The aim of Tournament of Minds is to develop diverse skills, time management and the discipline to work collaboratively within a challenging and competitive environment.  It provides an opportunity to develop and refine 21st century skills.

The Balmacewen Intermediate team performed well and judges commented on the team's dramatic ability, singing (original songs),  and excellent teamwork.

This was a tremendous experience.
