Dear Parents and Caregivers....

If you’re like me you are wondering just where the last eleven months have gone. As the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun!

It has been another very successful year for Balmacewen in all respects. Our students continue to excel in all areas of school life and our school enjoys a deserved reputation because of this.

Of course every age and stage through childhood is special but those of us involved the “middle years” know that we are part of a wonderful, complex and dynamic period of growth in the life of a child.

That’s what makes Intermediate schools a great place to live and learn. Thank you to all our committed and hardworking staff who daily go the extra mile for our students.

Goodbye and good luck to our departing Year 8 students. I wish you every success in your transition to secondary school. Keep your standards high and aim for excellence in all that you do. Thank you for being such a great group of students, I hope you take many good memories and learnings with you.

Finally thank you to you our parent community. Thanks for your ongoing support of Balmacewen Intermediate and all that you do to make our school a great place. It is very much appreciated.

Believe or not, I’m already looking forward to next year. There are new plans, programmes and of course new students to welcome.

I wish you all a happy and safe holiday break. Enjoy the company of family and friends and take a well-earned rest.

Merry Christmas

Andrew Hunter
