Message from the Principal

We are warming up and emerging from winter and there's plenty of great activity around the school.

As you'll see from this newsletter there is much to be celebrated.

The energy and enthusiasm of Balmacewen students and our "can do" attitude is well recognised.  It's great to see our teams and groups having fun and achieving in so many areas.

Involvement in extra curricular activities reinforces so many great attitudes for our young people. Teamwork, dedication and a healthy desire to relate to other people positively are all great reasons to be involved.

We are well into our Term 3 programmes and it is great to see the wide variety of activities both in and out of the school. We are fortunate to have such great resources in the Dunedin area. Real learning is meaningful and authentic and through direct experiences our students gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. We also benefit from the many talented people in our school community who are happy to come and share their expertise and experiences with us. Thank you for giving your time so generously.

We are about to engage in another small building project which will see a new classroom built onto Room 23 and 24. This enables us to continue to develop our school environment and learning areas which are already at a very high level. We hope that work will begin Mid September and be completed by Christmas time.

We are rapidly progressing to mid term and hopefully the promise of some drier and warmer weather. There is much to look forward to this term and I encourage all students to keep up the excellent effort being witnessed around our school.

As always, if I can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to call.

Kind Regards

Andrew
