Balmacewen has their annual Swimming Sports at Moana Pool in Term 1. From here students are selected on time performance to represent us at Otago Primary Schools Swimming Championships. Students can choose to compete in individual events, relay teams and non competitive events. (To be selected for Otago Primary School Champs students must compete in competitive events).

In School Programme

During Term 1 each classroom has 4 swimming sessions that are delivered by Just Swim. The lessons are based around the water skills for life programme. The programme has a focus on the skills and knowledge, children need to make assess risks and make smart decisions around the water. These lessons are run at Moana Pool. Our classes walk to and from Moana Pool with there teachers.
